Black and White: A deep dive into orca behaviour and conservation

July 28, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

This National Marine Week, we’re hosting a new webinar on orca behaviour and conservation with ocean conservationist, Lauren Eyles

In this month’s free webinar, we’ll be joined by Lauren Eyles, marine biologist and founder of Wild Ocean Wonders, she discusses Orca populations, recent behaviour in Portugal and the theories behind this. Hear from Lauren in this online session as she outlines her work on Orca Watch and making of the film, as well as her work with Sea Watch Foundation.

Lauren has over 15 years of experience in engagement, citizen science and communication – on top of that she’s also a PADI dive master and a snorkel guide/instructor. Lauren has engaged thousands of people in citizen science projects as well as presented face-to-face and on-screen to show what the oceans have to offer, to better understand them and the threats they face!

You may have seen Lauren on BBC’s Blue Plant, Springwatch and Countryfile, among other local and national radio stations where she has discussed the impacts of plastic pollution on wildlife and people, marine animal strandings and climate change effects on White Beaked dolphin distribution.
