Welcome to our Mammal Week webinar, on the role of mammals in our lives and landscapes, chaired by Zeb Soanes with panelist Dr Stephanie Wray

Join us for an engaging webinar as part of the Mammal Society’s Mammal Week Free Webinar Series! This session promises to be an enlightening exploration of the significance of conserving British mammals and their integral role in our daily lives and landscapes. Whether you’re a consultant, student, casual conservationist, or simply curious about the natural world, this webinar is for you!

During this webinar, we discuss the importance our mammals, exploring their vital ecological roles, conservation challenges, and their interconnectedness with our human life. From the elusive dormouse to the charismatic red squirrel, we will uncover the stories and importance of these creatures that share our landscapes.

The Mammal Society’s Chair, Dr. Stephanie Wray, will join us as a panelist during this Mammal Week webinar. With an impressive career spanning over 25 years in biodiversity consultancy, Dr. Wray has been a trailblazer in her field. In 2020, she founded Nature Positive, where she advocates for companies to recognize the financial value inherent in nature and the profound impact their supply chains have on the natural world. Her contributions to the development of best practices in surveying and mitigation for a diverse range of species earned her the prestigious Mammal Society Medal in 2011.

We are also proud to share that the host for this event is none other than broadcaster, author, and Mammal Society Patron, Zeb Soanes. With over two decades of experience as an authoritative newsreader and the comforting voice behind the iconic Shipping Forecast on BBC Radio 4, Zeb Soanes brings his unique perspective to the conversation. Beyond this, Zeb haas authored the immensely popular ‘Gaspard the Fox’ book series.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain fresh insights into the world of British mammals and their impact on our lives. Join us and be part of the conversation about the future of British mammals and the landscapes we share with them.
