Most of the time you won’t actually see a mammal as they live a very secretive life. Luckily for us they leave clues behind in the form of footprints (tracks) and poo (signs). We can then act as a detective and find out who left them behind!
To understand the footprint that is left behind we thought we’d begin from the start! Take a look a the flick book below to discover the ways in which a mammal puts it’s foot on the floor, see what print they leave behind, how you can see these prints in the wild and what bones are found in the foot.
Use the bar along the top to navigate this flick book! The first icon is to take you back to the first page, then download a copy for yourself, print one for home, zoom into a page, make the flick book full screen and turn the page sound off.
Once you’ve learnt about mammal feet, toes and tracks why not put your knowledge to the test with our handy activity book below!
