Mammal Society Local Groups Conference 2024: Semi-aquatic mammals

When? Saturday 9th October, 10am-4.30pm

Where? The Forum, Streatham Campus, Exeter University, Exeter (and online)

This year's Mammal Society Local Groups Conference is focused on semi-aquatic mammals and their habitat. We'll be looking at beavers, otters, water shrews, water voles and the invasive American mink. Join to hear expert speakers provide updates on the conservation status of species, emerging threats and exciting developments in restoration projects. Gain insight into techniques for monitoring semi-aquatic mammals, and share learning and ideas between local groups.

Above all, spend a day with like-minded nature enthusiasts and connect with friends new and old in the Mammal Society Local Groups Network.

The conference is open to all with an interest in wildlife and local conservation volunteering, and free for members of registered Mammal Society local groups.

This event is hybrid, to allow attendance from anywhere in the UK. Please note that online attendees will be able to view presentations and submit questions, but involvement in some on-site workshop sessions and networking opportunities will be limited.

Hot drinks and a light plant-based lunch provided.
