Gillian Burke
Gillian presents on the BBC's Springwatch and Winterwatch series along with co-hosts Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan, Iolo Williams & Megan McCubbin. Born in Kenya, Gillian earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Bristol University, and began her a TV career in natural history filmmaking behind the camera, as researcher to producer/director on several Animal Planet and Discovery Channel series.
She lives in Cornwall where she hosts her system change podcast, If I Ruled the World released bi-weekly on Spotify and Apple podcasts.
Outside of her media work, Gillian is the Vice President of the Wildlife Trusts and is trustee, patron, or ambassador to a number of international, national and local organisations including the Mammal Society, Buglife, Cool Earth, Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust, Wild Otter Trust UK, the Mount Kenya Trust and Georgia’s Voice. She also regularly supports the work of Surfers Against Sewage.
