2017 Spring conference programme released

 

The Mammal Society's 63rd Spring conference and AGM this year takes place at Robinson College Cambridge, from the 31st March - 2nd April. We are delighted to announce our provisional 2017 conference programme!

In addition to Simon King delivering our free Cranbrook lecture and presenting the prizes for our Mammal Photographer of the Year competition on the opening night of our Spring conference, Professor Bill Sutherland of Cambridge University will be giving our plenary lecture. Bill is renowned for his work on environmental change.  A champion of evidence-based conservation, Bill founded the free online journal Conservation Evidence. His team works at the interface of academia, policy and practice, promoting the use of the best scientific data to underpin management decisions.

Our conference programme includes a diverse range of topics, from water vole displacement to the life cyle of a mammal record, African lion pride sizes to the genetic structure of Bechstein's bats. Following the success of last year, we have once again included "Rapid fire" sessions, to provide a snapshot look into a variety of mammal research, and we will conclude with a variety of CPD accredited interactive workshops.

The Annual General Meeting of The Mammal Society will also be held during the conference and all members are warmly invited to attend.
