Chris Packham includes Mammal Society guide in new clothing range

I was delighted to represent the Mammal Society at the launch of Chris Packham’s new clothing range at Cotswold Outdoor, in Covent Garden on 5 April.

This clothing range is aimed at encouraging children to explore the natural environment. Chris Packham gave a spellbinding talk on the build up to these clothes. Every detail had been thought about and derived from his own experience as a young lad. Bringing home a fox skull in his pocket and discovering how pungent the unprocessed fox head could be lead to the understanding of the benefits of a waterproof removal pocket. Many more tales like these made for a delightful evening.

The Mammal Society, BTO, Bug Life and Butterfly Conservation are all recognised with the addition of beautiful ID guides from each society. These are hooked into the coats and will provide instant talking or comparison point while out and about. Integral to the coat is another ID learning opportunity. This is in the form of a wonderful lining with a pattern of a footprint ID guide. The outer material is designed to break up the human shape with a collage of species. The adult size coat has a splendid mammal montage whilst the children’s coats have the special footprint ID lining.

Each jacket has an inscription on the yoke which reads . . . ‘Love life. All life. Every thing is beautiful, everything that creeps, crawls, slimes, slithers or stings.
