Fiona runs to raise funds #RunningForTheirFuture

On 20 October Mammal Society Chair, Professor Fiona Mathews, will be running her first ever marathon!

Fiona will be running the Amsterdam Marathon to raise much needed funds for the Mammal Society. All money raised will go towards helping to fund ongoing Mammal Society activities (including monitoring, advising, and providing training), all of which help with the conservation of Britain's mammals.

In last year's Review of the Population and Conservation Status of Britain's Mammals we highlighted those mammals which are particularly at risk of extinction, as well as mammals which we simply don't have enough information about. Unlike most organisations monitoring British Wildlife, the Mammal Society receives no central government funding for our core work. With your help we can continue our work and increase the chances of species such as the wildcat, water vole and hedgehog surviving into the next decade. The title of Fiona's fundraising campaign is #RunningForTheirFuture.

Fiona is currently training hard and feeling slightly nervous. We know she can do it!

If you can please show your support by donating on our Virgin Giving page here. No donation too small.

Thank you!
