COVID-19 - advice to volunteers

The current advice to volunteers carrying out wildlife surveys is that they can continue to survey only if they are following all government guidance in their geographic region regarding outdoor activities, they are maintaining social distancing and appropriate health and safety procedures at all times.  Volunteers should contact the relevant country agencies for their region.  Despite the very high value that is placed on the data and information derived from these surveys, it is agreed that they are not essential work.

Anyone who is participating in activities that involve handling wild mammals should, as a precautionary measure, wear a mask and gloves.
