Dundee Mammal Group – Introductory Meeting

Are you based in Dundee and interested in helping establish a local mammal group?

We’re looking to bring together people who care about local wildlife, whether you’re a volunteer, student, nature enthusiast, or part of an existing community organisation, and explore forming the Dundee Mammal Group as part of the Mammal Society’s Local Groups Network.

At the moment we have one keen individual ready to get things moving, but to take the next steps we need a small committee of volunteers who can help shape and run the group. This session is designed to introduce what’s involved and help us identify who might want to take on roles or support the setup.

Join us for this Dundee-focused session to learn about:

  • What a local Mammal Society group does

  • How the Dundee group would connect to the national network

  • What support is available to help new groups get off the ground

  • What kind of activities a Dundee group could run—surveys, talks, training, local projects, and community engagement

  • What roles we need volunteers for (committee, events, communications, survey leads, etc.)

You’ll also hear examples from existing groups across the UK and Scotland to get a sense of what’s possible and how local groups make an impact on mammal conservation.
