Are you part of an existing group dedicated to mammal conservation?

The Local Groups Network is a nationwide hub for sharing ideas and expertise. Supported by the Mammal Society, we help groups access training in field skills, provide opportunities to collaborate on citizen science projects, and offer promotional support to boost awareness of your group’s work. Whether you're surveying for otters or hosting talks and events, we’ll help you expand your impact. By becoming part of our Local Groups Network, your group will get:

  • Free training: learn mammal survey techniques, fieldcraft and conservation skills

  • Equipment loan: access to a free equipment loan scheme

  • Insurance cover: Mammal Society insurance for your group’s activities

  • Expert advice: connect with Mammal Society experts for insights and information

  • Official logo: receive an official local group logo (coming soon)

  • Website listing: get listed on our website to attract interested people in your region

  • Membership discount: concessionary rate for Mammal Society membership for all group members

  • Conference benefits: two free places per region at our Annual Conference, plus reduced tickets for additional attendees

  • Committee involvement: get a spot on the Local Groups Committee

  • News updates: receive updates through our member’s magazine Mammal News and local groups newsletter
