Camera trap surveys can reveal the dynamics of deer “hotspots” in Ireland
The use of camera traps as a survey technique is an important way to gather information on terrestrial wildlife. This paper uses this technique to undertake Ireland’s first systematic camera trap survey for large mammals, capturing footage of eight wild mammal species in Wicklow, Ireland, including sika deer.
