Dr Amy Louise Hall
Zoologist and Ecologist
Dr Amy Louise Hall was educated in Jersey and obtained her undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Wales (Aberystwyth). Amy furthered her studies by studying for a Master of Research (MRes) in Ecology and Environmental Management and then a PhD in Environmental Economics and Management from the University of York. She has recently completed a Master of Laws (LLM) in Environmental Law and Practice from De Montfort University.
A zoologist and ecologist with more than 20 years of experience, Amy is currently a programme co-coordinator and a senior research fellow for JICAS. Amy is also and Chair of the Jersey Bat Group and of the Zoology Section of the Societe Jersiaise. Amy is a chartered biologist and a member of both the Royal Society of Biology and the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental management and a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London.
During her time at Durrell Amy worked closely with Professor Julia Fa carrying out research and providing GIS coverages and spatial analysis for a number of scientific papers. During this time Amy and John collaborated with University of Oxford, Imperial College London, African Wildlife Foundation, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Malaga
Amy has carried out field work in Jersey, the UK, the Caribbean and South America and specialises in small mammals and bat research and GIS based spatial analysis.
