Youth Ambassador Programme
Our Youth Ambassador Programme is your gateway to the world of mammal conservation and an opportunity to make a real impact.
Become a Youth Ambassador: Inspire, learn, and lead
The Mammal Society Youth Ambassador Programme is your gateway to the world of mammal conservation. As a youth ambassador, you'll work with experienced researchers and ecologists to make a real impact. Whether you're interested in fieldwork, community outreach, or social media advocacy, there's a place for you in our programme. While you may get involved with a particular opportunity or event in mind, when signed up as a Youth Ambassador you’ll be an official Mammal Society Youth Ambassador for a year, kept ‘in the loop’ on our activities, consulted on matters concerning youth engagement, and alerted to opportunities to get involved in our activities and represent the Society at events or in press and communications. The exact nature of your involvement will depend on your own interests and strengths.
Key responsibilities
Participate in tailored activities related to mammal conservation.
Document and share your journey through photos, videos, blogs, and social media.
Engage with the public to raise awareness about mammal conservation.
Collaborate with experienced researchers and conservationists.
Opportunities and benefits
Build skills in research, content creation, and public engagement.
Have all travel expenses covered during programme activities.
Become part of a vibrant community dedicated to protecting mammals.
Continue contributing to the Mammal Society's conservation efforts after the program.
Timeframe and age limits
Youth Ambassadors are generally between 16 and 18 years old. The typical program duration is one year, though there may be the opportunity for those still within the qualifying age bracket to remain involved for longer if they wish and there are opportunities to do so.
We periodically open recruitment for new youth ambassadors, however there are no vacancies at present. If you’d like to still apply your application will be logged and we’ll reach out when an opportunity arises. If you have any queries about the position please email our Education and Training Officer Fiona at fiona@mammal.org.uk.
