Mammal Society welcomes Diana Atkinson Limited

The Mammal Society is pleased to welcome our new corporate supporter, Diana Atkinson Limited. This support is vital to enable us to continue leading science-led mammal conservation and we are really looking forward to working with Diana over the next year and beyond.

Diana says: “I spent a wonderful couple of days in midsummer at the beautiful Malham Tarn in North Yorkshire on a Mammal Identification Course organised by the Mammal Society and taught by Debbie Alston. Her enthusiasm for animals and the countryside (and in particular her obsession with poo of any kind) rubbed off on everybody and we all came away happy, having learnt lots.

I am an Independent Financial Adviser with my own company Diana Atkinson Limited and was brought up on a small farm near the Cleveland Hills in the North East of England. As a child, age four, I would often “run away from home,” which meant I got as far as the pond at the bottom of the pasture where a Water Hen built its nest. Hay time meant spending more time outdoors and I remember once sitting in the hay and being bitten on the finger by some small creature. My interest in nature started early!

Going forward, I would like to try and encourage more people and in particular the young, to care for and protect wildlife and our glorious countryside.

I am really looking forward to being a Corporate Member and hope that in the future we can find a way to work together to help more people appreciate and enjoy nature”
