Mammal Society Spotlight Session: 50 years of being a Naturalist with Sir John Lister-Kaye OBE 

Join us in-person or online for an engaging evening talk at the Mammal Society Spotlight Session, a free event open to all on the eve of our annual conference.

This year we are joined by Sir John Lister-Kaye OBE, for his talk titled "50 years of being a Naturalist".

John is one of Britain’s best known conservationists, naturalists and nature writers. He has written 12 books on wildlife and most recently a book on Mustelids titled Footprints in the Woods. Other books include an autobiography of his 1950s childhood in England, The Dun Cow Rib (2017), which was shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize in 2018, and Gods of the Morning (2015) which won the Richard Jefferies Prize for Nature Writing.

John has held prominent positions in RSPB, Scottish Natural Heritage, The Scottish Wildlife Trust and other conservation bodies. He received an OBE for services to conservation in 2003 and has honorary doctorates from two Scottish universities. In 2016, he was awarded the Royal Scottish Geographical Society’s Geddes Medal for Conservation and made an honorary FRSGS. He has lectured all over the world and lives at Aigas with his wife, Lucy, and their extended family.

This event takes place at Kingsmills Hotel & Spa and will also be livestreamed via zoom. All attendees will receive a link to the zoom recording following the event.
